VALUE To Our Community

iPUNIX was formed as a start-up by Harry Degenaar in late 2002 specializing in the outsourcing of Java and Delphi software Engineers working on ERP applications for the UNIX and LINUX operating platforms. During 2009 iPUNIX embarked on the development of a Small Footprint Computer based Gateway using the Zigbee & WiFi communication protocols running on the Linux O/S

Managing our resources better; we have seen that with the Australian wide energy crisis, Harry and his son, Sebastian developed the proof of concept for the Modulite WBAMnet Smart Grid System. For more information on the WBAMnet Click Here

Harry Degenaar's Profile

Harry in synergy with his know-how on production plant automation engineering has extensive experience in CAD, SAP, Oracle, SQL DataBase and Citect-(SCADA/HMI). As a lead architect he worked on front and back-end LAN, intra / internet based applications building complete ERP systems for manufacturing organisations to achieve an increase in productivity and decrease their manufacturing cost. In the mid 70's Harry carried out development work on the CP/M operating system, followed in the early 80's on MP/M-86, this (early network) turned a PC into a multi-user multi-tasking machine capable of supporting multiple concurrent users using dumb terminals attached by serial ports. This was followed by the late 80's with the CDOS386 operating system and from the early 90's he carried out development work on the Linux operating platforms. He also specialized in propriety operating systems used for industrial plant control.

From 1994 on Harry gained significant experience in Metallurgical Engineering. This included: Poly-Metallic (lead, zinc, silver), Pyro-Metallic (nickel). Froth flotation (copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver, nickel). Coal HPP and Magnetite Plant. Gold Carbon in Pulp (CIP) and Gold Carbon in Leach (CIL) and Electro-winning. High Pressure Acid Leach Autoclaves (HPAL) (copper, nickel, and gold. In-situ Leaching (uranium), Heap & Dump Leaching (gold, copper and uranium). Chemically separating and recovering fissionable plutonium from spent nuclear fuel, including the heavy metals such as caesium, and strontium from the less-toxic bulk of uranium. Base Metals ore processing and refining including SAG & Ball Mills. Mining & Mineral Processing Plant Infrastructure, Combined-Cycle Power Plants, CFB Boiler Steam Turbine Units, Gas Turbines, Port & Rail.

In retirement, further to the activity of iPUNIX, Harry offers retained R&D consulting services for the Nuclear Energy Industry, with a focus on radiation damage in ferritic/martensitic steels for Advanced Gen-IV Fission Reactors and the Closed Nuclear Fuel Cycle, including Hydro-Metallurgy, Electro-Refining & Pyro-Metallurgy. Harry also offers a retained recruitment service for the Nuclear Energy Industry.
